The Gathering Tabernacle

Fire: Fighting Tradition

Dan Goosetree Season 8 Episode 49

Welcome to the second part of this 3-part series on The Gathering Tabernacle podcast. There is something that is more common and difficult than fighting demons and that is fighting the traditions of man. For some reason we have no problem accepting the humanity of the dead and ignore the humanity in those who are still alive. God can embrace your humanity and still accept you. Once born again, God doesn't remember the old you. The old you is dead, that's why it is called being born again. Stop trying to remind God of your old self with your shame and sin because He doesn't know who that is because that person died at the altar. Stop holding yourself in bondage by a dead man's name. God has your new name/identity for you written on a stone. This is a hard thing to remind ourselves and that's why it is so important to surround ourselves with those who will believe in us when nobody else will. The more you understand who God is and tell Him who He is, the more He will tell you who you are. Lots of us feel lost or hopeless in today's world because we don't know who we are in Christ. Or we've tried church before but got 'church hurt' and don't want to return. That was not God that hurt you but religious traditions of the world, not of God. Just because someone sits in church doesn't mean they're a child of God. Maybe this is your wakeup call that you've been sitting in church but haven't proclaimed to be a true child of God.
